Abstract

The demountable partition wall is designed so that it can be erected or dismantled, or converted, on site, with an min. of skille labour. A frame (1-3) attached to the ceiling, floor and vertical elements at the sides, has an edge batten (9) or more than one, parallel to the partition wall plane, engaged by a groove (5), also peripherally parallel to this plane, in the wall panels (7). Lateral connection between the panels themselves is effected by sideways displacement relative to the frame, so as to bring them into engagement with each other. There may be two parallel edge battens on the frame bearing two groups of panels which form the two sides of the partition wall. The groove on the underside of the panels may be fitted with rollers, enabling the panels to run on the edge batten of the lower part of the frame.
