Abstract

The overload protection circuit prevents a load consuming more than the power permitted by the electricity supply authorities, to avoid the fire associated with such an excess. A transformer is connected between the mains supply and a relay. The relay acts as a trigger and controls a time circuit supplied from the mains. A second contact (7) of the relay switches off secondary loads. The time circuit comprises a capacitor (13), a threshold switch (17), a diode (15) and a resistor (16). The capacitor is connected over the second contact to the phase line and over the diode and resistor to the neutral line.
