Abstract

The device is applicable to electric motors with spring loaded brakes which are released by the energising of a solenoid when the motor current is switched on. An eccentric bolt (8) is attached to either side of the motor casing (1). The bolt can be rotated with a key which is inserted in the socket head (14) and this causes the claws (9) to move axially. The tip (11) of the claw then pulls the brake disc (17) clear of the brake lining (5). The brake is thus released without switching on the motor current. Holes are provided in the motor cover (12) for access to the bolts (8).
