Abstract

Refrigeration unit for cooling liquid or gaseous fluids has an evaporator, a post evaporator or superheater, a heat exchanger for heat transfer from the liquid to the gaseous phase and an expansion valve controlled by a temp. sensor. The sensor is located between the post evaporator and the heat exchanger. The after evaporator, the heat exchanger and the temp. sensor form a single unit. The post evaporator and the heat exchanger are mounted in the same plane. The unit is mounted in the flow of fluid to be cooled in front of the evaporator. They are both mounted at the same height. The lit-exchanger consists of two concentric tubes, with the inner one being the flow passage for the evaporated refrigerant. For use with refrigerated units such as display cabinets. Can be used to cool liquids or gases. Improved performance is obtd. by the contact between the liquid refrigerant and the low pressure vapour. This has been obtd. by soldering the two pipes to gether over a length of line. However it takes up additional length and control is not easy. The system described is simple to mount and install and the production of its individual components is straight-forward.
