Abstract

Fastener for e.g. textile, leather plastic includes a fastener block and fastener flap which are held together magnetically. The surfaces of the fastener block and the fastener flap are profiled to amplify the magnetic field holding them together and also produce a high frictional force between them. Pref. the fastener block is a permanent magnet with an undulating surface and covered with a plastif film. The fastener flap may be an undulating flexible strap of ferromagnetic material.
