Abstract

The machine has a bed of rollers (1), assembling the packages to form a layer. These are introduced underneath the stack being formed, this being held by means of side clamping plates (24, 25). Forks (4A), controlled by a chain (10A) and piston (15A), rise between the rollers and lift the layer upwards, to constitute the bottom layer of the stack. The side clamps release and regrip the new layer and the forks move outwards, descend and return under the rollers. The reciprocating movement is controlled by an arm (21), rotating at slow speed around a pivot, the forks being mounted on a carriage (16) on a track (19).
