Abstract

The window frame is set in concrete in an open bay of a brickwork wall. The frame is metal with an upper horizontal box section (7) containing a roller blind (6). The underside of the box section is open along the corner, and a projecting profile carries doubly-glazed panes (2). The top side of the box has a shoulder on top of which rests the inside concrete formwork (31), and there is a projecting ridge (9) to key into the concrete. An outer shutter (32) completes the formwork and the concrete is cast in situ with reinforcement bars (5) to strengthen the lintel (4).
