Abstract

A multidifferential assembly has a number of differentials, each of which comprises a satellite carrier with at least two satellites, and two planet wheels; the assumed axis of rotation of all satellite carriers and planet wheels being the same. Carriers and planet wheels are designed to rotate, and in the assembly, two sub assemblies are input elements and another is an output element. Two end elements are provided with a number of elements in between, and an input or output and element is designed as a planet wheel. The satellites of each second element among the satellite carriers are at the same radial level relatively to the assumed axis of rotation. A number of the satellite carriers have on each face an outer or an inner planet wheel path formed by teeth or a surface on which rolling friction is possible, and have an inner or an outer satellite. Each end element has the form of a planet wheel. The multidifferential assembly has at least two output elements and each of these may acts as an input or an output element. All elements are free to rotate but are axially immovable on a common shaft. Each intermediate element is designed both as satellite carrier and planet wheel and has a circumferential surface allowing it to drive or to be driven. The assembly provides a multidifferential arrangement with numerous output elements, the speeds of rotation of which are in a definite ratio to the speed of the input element and to the speed of elements adjacent to each output element.
