Abstract

The apparatus to transfer large sheets of cardboard or corrugated cardboard from one stack to another has a set of wheeled trolleys which are reciprocated horizontally between a position on top of the stack to the feed end of a belt conveyor discharging onto the stacking position. Each trolley carries a suction nozzle, and feeds the top sheet between two intermediate belt conveyors preceding the main belt conveyor. Each trolley is attached to a crank system supported from the frame of the machine, to carry out this feeding action. A gripper system is synchronised with the belt system for transfer of the sheet. Both the conveyor belts and the trolley incorporates pivot arms. The pulley at the feed end of the lower conveyor is supported by a spring loaded pivot arm. Each trolley is driven by a fast acting mechanism on the forward stoke, and a slow return.
