Description

The invention relates to a conveyor device according to the preamble of patent claim 1.

Conveying devices of the above type are used, inter alia, at transition points between further processing machines and devices. For example, between a cycle feeder and a side cutter, where stapled printed products pass through the last processing station. The feed in flake form or individually takes place continuously in a predetermined work cycle, to which the conveyor device mentioned at the outset is largely bound.
The latter takes on the task of reliably transporting the printed products in a certain position to the side cutting device or the subsequent processing station in order to avoid disruptions in the further workflow.

In the case of a known conveyor device of the type mentioned at the outset, it is the case that the lying flat, fed in front of the fold Due to their unequal thickness, printed products are disturbed primarily at the folded edge by the upper entry edge to the conveying channel and are thereby displaced from their prescribed position. This results in an interruption in the work cycle or inadequate trimming of the side edges on the printed products.

The object of the present invention is therefore to create a conveyor device with which the above-mentioned defects do not occur and which ensures reliable transport of the printed products.

According to the invention, this object is achieved according to the characterizing part of patent claim 1.

As a result, the printed products can be picked up in the correct position and transported further, and the conveyor can adapt to the different thicknesses of the printed products.

Fig. 2
2 shows a view of the embodiment according to FIG. 1 from below,

Fig. 4
a view of the embodiment of FIG. 3 from below.

1 and 2 illustrate an upper conveyor device 1, which is formed from an endlessly rotating second belt 3 and interacts with a lower, endlessly rotating first belt 4, of a conveyor device which is shown in part. The first belt 4 forms a flat support 5 on which the printed products 6, for example regularly or intermittently by a transponder or fed in scale formation in the direction of the arrow P, are placed in front of the fold. Above the support 5, which is formed by at least one run of the rotatingly driven first belt 4, runs approximately parallel to a run 7 of the second endless belt 3 in the same direction of movement as the first belt 4 forming the support 5. Together, the two belts 3, 4 in the area of the support 5, a conveyor channel 8, the passage height of which can be adjusted by adjusting the height (not shown) of a frame 10 carrying the second belt 3 and its guide and drive means 9, adapted to the thickness of the printed products 6 supplied.
In the inlet area 11 located upstream, which is delimited by two spaced-apart guide rollers 12, 13, the height of the conveyor channel 8 is variable. In the illustrated case according to FIG. 1, the guide roller 13 rests on the back of the run 7 and, as can be seen, presses it against the support 5 in time with the supplied printed products, so that an entry region 11 that narrows increasingly at the entrance of the conveying channel in the conveying direction of the printed products. This measure has the effect that the printed products 6 are carefully taken over by the conveying channel 8 and passed on without changing their position.
It would also be possible to achieve an at least similar effect with the upstream guide roller 12.
The guide roller 13 is freely rotatably mounted on a lever arm 14 of a two-armed lever arrangement 15, the other lever arm 16 of which is engaged by a tension spring 20 acting on the lever arm 14 is pressed via a control roller 17 to a control shaft 18 of an actuator 19. For this purpose, the cross section of the control shaft 18 in the area of the adjacent control roller 17 is increasingly eccentric in one direction of rotation and can be driven in both directions. In order to avoid torsional moments, the lever arrangement 15 according to FIG. 2 is provided on both sides of the conveyor device 1. For the sake of completeness, it should be noted that the second belt 3 is driven by a drive wheel 21 on the shaft of the guide and drive means 9.

In a further embodiment of the conveyor device according to the invention according to FIGS. 3 and 4, the change in the inlet area 11 of the conveyor channel 8 takes place in direct dependence on the drive of the second belt 3. A pinion 22, which has a meshing pinion, is seated on the shaft of the drive wheel 21 23 forms a reduction gear 24. On the shaft of the pinion 23 there is a control cam 25, against which a control roller 17 rests with the aid of a tension spring 20 in order to actuate the guide roller 13 at the rear of the run 7 by lever arm 14 via the lever arm 16 of a lever arrangement 15 assigned to the latter .
