Abstract

The clamping ring is used for fastening a bared wire end to a battery terminal post. It has only two separate components which consists of a ring and a grub screw. It is simpler than existing types one of which employs a third component eg a plate, to clamp the wire. The ring is oval and has two holes (12) at one end through which the bared end of the wire passes (14). The grub screw (16) is located at the other end with its axis at right angles to the line joining the holes. The ring is placed over the terminal post (18) and the screw tightened so that the wire end is gripped between the post and the inside of the ring.
