Abstract

A catalytic burner consists of a shallow vertical back panel (10) with the gas injection nozzle (13) at the top, through which the fuel gas is dispersed over the panel. The back panel is covered with a sheet of material resistant to high temperature and sufficiently dense to cause a pressure of 10 to 700 mm water gauge behind the panel to ensure even distribution of the gas. The panel is covered with a gauze (21) and is held together by a frame (22) bolted to the rear panel.
