Abstract
Heat is recovered from one current of air in order to warm another at lower temperatures, both currents being created by blowers, using plate-type heat exchangers. In the latter the currents initially intersect, then flow parallel to each other in opposite directions, and finally intersect againt. The structure of the heat exchanger plates is such as to aid heat transfer between parallel currents and not when they intersect. The exchange surfaces can be greater where the currents are parallel, and where they intersect plate material thickness can be increased.
