Abstract

The peristaltic pump has a horizontal stretch of the filling tube contacted by a set of rotating rollers which squeeze the tube so as to force a measured quantity of fluid through the tube, the rollers being attached to a shoe which is raised and lowered by a reciprocating piston synchronised with a valve arrangement to that the pumping action can be interrupted. This is synchronised with a delivery mechanism where the delivery end of the tube (8) is lowered into the container, and at the same time a ball (9) inside the tube is maintained in an upper position by a electromagnet (10) around the tube at an upper level. When the magnetic field is cut off, the ball falls and blocks the tip of the tube again. The tip is designed to prevent the cleaning liquid dripping during cut-off.
