Abstract
A suction device, e.g. a piston, is connected into the line between the metered supply of liquid and the discharge nozzle, which takes the form of a split teat made of rubber or plastic elastomer; as soon as delivery of a measured dose of liquid has passed through the nozzle, the suction device is actuated to retract the teat and collapse it completely so that no drips may escape from liquid remaining in the supply line. In contrast with capillary tube delivery nozzles, the elastic teat will not block up in use, it will not splash, is positively sealed when not delivering and can locate easily for delivering into small apertures.
