Abstract

The multi-storey building rests on foundations (F) above which the desired number of storeys extend. The building has four equal sides (A, B, C, D). The ground floor comprises a garage entrance, entrance hall with door (13), lift shaft, staircase and flat (15). The first floor occupies 75% of the total surface of the building, including the terrace which covers roughly 25% of the building surface. The second storey is identical to all the storeys above it, and includes a terrace. The enclosed living space corresponds roughly to that on the first floor. The central column (5) includes, besides the lift and staircase, two pairs of identical, facing corners. One pair of each contains a refuse-shaft, and each corner incorporates a chimney hot-and-cold water pipes, sewerage pipes, ventilation-ducts and electric cables. The storeys are arranged in spiral formation around the central column, with each floor at an angle of 90 deg. to the adjacent one. Each fourth floor is therefore positioned exactly over the one four floors below.
