Abstract

The ice grips for the tyre comprise metal bands which are clipped over the surface of the tyre in a transverse setting. The middle of the grip has a pattern of grip studs (5) with at least one spike (6) while other spikes (14) are provided at the edges. The middle studs are arranged in a pattern for optimum grip. The studs are embedded in a soft padding so as not to damage ice free roads. The underside of the grip has short spikes and pyramid shapes, under the studs, so that pressure on the studs presses the grip firmly onto the tyre tread. The grips are easily fitted without any special tools. They are self tightening and do not require the vehicle to be moved for fitting.
