Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain a function as a spiked tire and a function as a snow tire, by providing spikes at the side edges of the tread and reducing the pressure of air to place the spikes on the ground. CONSTITUTION:Spikes (a) are attached to supporting protrusions 5 at the side edges of the tread 1 of a tire. When the pressure of air in the tire is high in its use, the central part of the tread 1 is put in contact with the ground so that the tire functions as a snow tire. When the air pressure is low, the side edges of the tread 1 are put in contact with the ground to place the spikes (a) thereon so that the tire functions as a spiked tire. The functions as a snow tire and a spiked tire can easily be switched over by changing only the air pressure.
