Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve mobility on a damp road and low rolling resistance by a construction wherein a cap tread consists of a central section with high mobility on a damp road and shoulder sections with high low rolling resistance.
CONSTITUTION: A cap tread T is constructed of rubber layers A in shoulder sections corresponding to the folded sections 6a of a belt-reinforcing layer 6 and a rubber layer B corresponding to a central section. The rubber layer A is formed with the one offering low rolling resistance, the relatively high dynamic modulus of elasticity and a relatively small dynamic loss. In addition, the rubber layer B is formed with the one offering good mobility on a damp road, the relatively low dynamic modulus of elasticity and a relatively large dynamic loss. With this construction, it is possible to improve low rolling resistance and mobility on a damp road.
