Abstract

PURPOSE: To lessen the rolling resistance without adversely affecting the hard wearing properties, wet skidding properties and driving stabilities, by forming a two- layered tread from a cap tread rubber and a base tread rubber with the ratio of loss elastic moduluses of said tread rubbers in a specific range.
CONSTITUTION: The tread 5 consists of two layers of the cap tread rubber A and the base tread rubber B, and use is made of the base tread rubber B having a loss elastic modulus E" in a range of 20W80% of the loss elastic modulus E" of the cap tread rubber that is of the order of from 7W15kg/cm2. For the example, for the cap rubber A, main constituents are natural rubber, isoprene rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, etc. and for the base rubber, main constituents are natural rubber, isoprene rubber, butadiene rubber, etc. As a result, the rolling resistance is lessened without adversely affecting the hard wearing properties, wet skidding properties and driving stabilities.
