Abstract

A decorative film, sheet or plate with relatively narrow, raised ornamentations of synthetic resin bonded to its surface, has no cavities in the joint area between the ornamentation and the substrate. The sheet is porous and the synthetic resin forming the raised ornament is clearly pressed into the film or sheet with practically a 100% freedom from cavities. The films or sheets may be wholly unreinforced P.V.C., or have reinforcements of textile material such as woven fabrics, as well as unwovens, leather, paper, carton, etc., into the surface of which the ornamental resin is pressed. It is possible to produce narrow, highly raised complicated designs in which the synthetic resin is bonded sufficiently to the substrate to avoid damage during washing, drying, dry cleaning, ironing.
