Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the intended decorating material having hewings in the appearance and identical in the pattern to the printing pattern by printing a pattern on a foaming agent containing synthetic resin on the base material with a printing ink containing a foaming inhibiter, foaming an embossed pattern on the resin layer with embossing roll and foaming the resin.
CONSTITUTION: A foaming agent containing synthetic resin paste 2 is laminated with a coating doctor 3 on the surface of a base material 1 made of paper, cloth or the like and the resin layer is dried with a drying furnace 4. Thus, a coated layer is formed on the entire surface. Then, a desired pattern is printed on the layer with a printing ink containing a foaming inhibiter (e.g. benzotriazole) and a reheating is given the material below the foaming agent decomposition temperature with a heater 8. Subsequently, an embossing is applied on the coated layer 5 with an embossing roll 9 to form a sharp fine embossed pattern 10 on the layer. The resin is allowed to foam by heating until an embossed pattern 12 as expanded out foamed is formed. In this manner, the intended decorating material can be obtained having a fine embossed pattern B on the unfoamed portion while a round dewdrop-shaped embossed pattern A produced on the foamed portion.
