Abstract

The mechanism is intended for holding a vehicle in a horizontal position. It comprises two pneumatic springs one arranged at each side of the vehicle, an outlet valve for each spring, a compressor to supply pressurised gas to the springs, and magnetic coil to control the supply of gas from the compressor to the springs. The pneumatic springs may be air springs. There may be two or more level sensors, one at least on each side of the vehicle. The level sensors may be electro-magnetic devices. Each spring may contain a flexible bag on top of a plunger and may have a buffer stop. The valves may be solenoid-operated.
