Abstract
An arrangement for the production of water-tight electrical cables. The cable has an insulated core which is provided at uniform spacings with rings of a meltable adhesive compound. A metal strip is bent about the cable core along its length and a strip of the adhesive compound is continuously applied to the overlapping joint of the metal strip. A layer of the same compound is applied on the metal screen outer surface, and the cable so produced is passed through an extruder to provide it with an outer sheath. The adhesive compound has a melting point lying between 60 and 120 deg.C.
