Abstract

The fence post comprises a base unit (1) which is fixed in the ground and a post unit which fits into the base. The base unit (1) is in the form of a moulded tube (4) which terminates in a basal nose cone (2). A pointed steel bar (3) is incorporated in the nose cone at the moulding stage and the base exterior may be ribbed (2, 5). The post unit may be formed of demountable tubular plastic sections, which may be fixed together by means of an internal longitudinal tie bar. The driving tool for the base may be a metal tube housing a sliding hammer, which may be operated by means of radial handles which project through vertical opposed slots in the tube wall.
