Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable the stable production of a bulb which is equal to a spherical shape and excellent in size accuracy, by a method wherein, after a cap is driven togetherwith a steel pipe pile, only the cap, which is previously separated from the steel pipe pile, is driven in, and mortar is then poured to form a bulb.
CONSTITUTION: An arrowhead-shaped cap 2 is attached to the forward head of a steel pipe pile 1, and the steel pipe pile 1 is struck by means of a pile driving device to drive it to a given depth. A rammer 3 is inserted into the steel pile pipe 1, and only the cap 2, which is separated from the end of steel pipe pile 1, is driven to a given depth. Mortar 4 is poured into the steel pipe to strike it by means of the rammer 3 for the formation of a bulb 5, and this forms a composite pile in which concrete and the steel pipe 1 are united into a monolithical unity.
