Abstract

The agricultural tractor transmission unit has a hollow input shaft from the engine, entering the gearbox via a clutch. The shaft carries a conical gear wheel which engages in a corresponding gear wheel on a perpendicular shaft. Power is transmitted to the integral differential through a series of meshing wheels which slide on separate parallel shafts, all of which are perpendicular to the input shaft. Different combinations of wheels selected by a gearlever, give different drive ratios. An auxiliary drive shaft, for agricultural machines, and clutch protrude from the back of the box.
