Abstract

The clamp consists of two U shaped elements (1, 2) made of wire or rod. The legs (1d) of one of the elements are bent (1c) at right angles to the plane of the U and have their ends turned to form eyelets (1e). The legs of the other elements are threaded and also deformed so that the distance between the ends of the legs matches that between the eyelet centres. Each element is passed around one of the beams (A) and the deformed legs passed through the eyelets, then through a clamping plate (3) which is secured by nuts (4). The second beam is clamped at right angles against the first by the legs bent at right angles, when the nuts are tightened.
