Abstract

The quiet action float-actuated water supply inlet valve for domestic water supply tanks or reservoirs, has the valve (9) and its seat (10) sited in the base of the tank (1), and effects water entry directly into the tank without recourse to intermediary pipework. This reduces turbulence and utilises the mass of water in the tank to dissipate sound. The valve assembly includes a non-return ball (13) valve to prevent accidental return of stored water. The other end of the arm which supports the float is pivoted to both the top of the valve stem (5) and to the fixed support (5), so that the attachment point for the fixed support acts as the fulcrum between float and valve seat.
