Abstract

The identity or credit card comprises a support surface (1), to which a number of elements identifying the holder of the card are applied. A security sheet of transparent material is applied over the identification elements positioned on the support surface, so that the elements cannot be altered or defaced. The transparent sheet may be a plastics film (7), the surface being applied over the identification elements being adhesive and covered by a cover layer (8) which is peeled off to allow the film (7) to be fixed in plate. Pref. the support surface (1) has an adhesive zone (2) covered by a removable cover layer (2a) to which a photograph of the card holder is attached.
