Abstract

A dividing machine for bread dough delivers dough pieces in already balled-up condition without the need to exert pressure on the main bulk of the dough being divided, the result being achieved by discharging the dough pieces via a parabolic extrusion nozzle. The leading face of a piston used to push the dough pieces through the nozzle is pref. tapered conically to indent the dough pieces as they extruded so that these ball up on leaving the nozzle. Used as automatic dough divider for bread bakeries. Very little compressive force exerted on the dough being divided so that fermentation is uninhibited. Balling-up is completed as the dough piece leaves the dividing machine.
