Abstract

The pieces of dough, each sufficient for one loaf, are fed through the opening to fall on the moving belt, to be carried under the cutting discs. Here they are cut into six pieces, the two end pieces being rejected by the deflectors. The four centre pieces are of equal vol. and are retarded differently by the friction strips so that they are brought out of line; this prevents them from sticking together when they reach the outlet. The pressure exerted by the elongating belt stretches the dough into the proper shape for bread rolls. The supplementary machine enables a working baker to produce bread rolls by a mechanised method at the lowest possible cost. It is of use when the quantities required do not justify breaking in to the prodn. of a fully automatic group.
