Abstract

Automatic bread making machine has a device for forming the lumps of dough, a fermentation chamber, a cutting station and a baking oven of the tunnel type. All the various operations are served by mechanical transporters. After leaving the cutting station the pieces of dough are transferred from the conveyor to another; if the speed of the two conveyors is the same the pieces of dough proceed to the oven with their lengths unchanged. If, however, the speed of the second conveyor is treater than that of the firt the dough, when being transfered, is subjected to tensile forces which increase its length. By adjusting the relative speeds of the two conveyors different elongations of the original pieces of dough can be effected.
