Abstract

A leak proof joint with a male portion having radial play in the throat of the second portion has a sealing ring (4) with a lip (13) and a finger (11) which is held in the groove (10) of the male part by pressure from the sides of this groove. The finger (11) is slightly over size radially and axially to allow for some compression and is of circular section. At the end of the lip (13) is an extension (12) forming a flexible sealing collar. Ribs on the lip press on the male part of the joint to give good sealing.
