Abstract

The lock for use on car-doors of a case containing a latch (3) hinged on spindle (4) and an opening (5) in which a bolt (6) engages cooperating with the latch. The latch is in the shape of a sprung pawl with two notches, while the bolt has only one notch. The side of the first of the latch notches which engages with the bolt notch when the door is closed, is inclined at an angle of less than 25 deg. in relation to the closing trajectory. This arrangement of the bolt and latch reduces the noise made when the door is closed and also allows the door to be closed without pressure being exerted.
