Abstract

The mechanism has a slewing cutter arm supported on the fodder via a roller and a baseplate, and above the arm is a blower, directly driven by an electric motor, with a hose discharging the material loosened to the outside. A number of radial arms, adjustable for length, slide vertically on the silo walls by means of pairs of rollers. The drive to the cutter arm (9) gearbox (10), and to the arm slewing gearbox (11) is taken from a vee-belt pulley (26) or gear ring below the blower rotor (23). The slewing drive can have a pinion (33) with a vertical spindle, meshing with an annulus formed in the blower housing (34). Arm, baseplate (3) and gear drives can be mounted in a frame (7) slewing on the stationary blower housing (13) by means of a ball-bearing (14).
