Abstract

The instantaneous water heater for a coffee maker, heats the water as it flows through supply tubes to be dispensed in a filtered diffusion jug, and has heat exchanging ribs which project into the tube and inhibit furring. The coffee maker has a base plate (18) supporting the jug and contg. electric elements to heat incoming water, which is supplied from a header tank, and passes through a duct (22) in the base before passing through a vertical outlet pipe which curves over to discharge in the jug. Pref. the base (18) is circular with the heating elements embedded in refractive cement in underside grooves and the water duct takes the form of a circular channel (22) with two concentric ribs (52) and fashioned in the base top.
