Abstract

2-Chlorobutadiene-1,3 (I) prepn. by dehydrochlorination of 3,4-dichlorobutene-1, (II) takes place by reacting (II) with the reaction prod. of NaOH and n-BuOH, dissolved in n-BuOH opt. contg. 1-5 wt.% water, at 0-150(50-100) degrees C, in homogeneous phase; admixing reaction prod. with sufficient aq. liquid to cause unmixing into 2 liquid phases and sepg. (I) obtd. from reaction prod. by distn. before or after addn. of aq. liquid. An aq., e.g. satd., NaCl soln. is obtd. which can be further used, e.g. for prepn. of NaOH and Cl2 by electrolysis. It is further possible to obtain a clean waste-water.
