The plant for the prodn. of precast plain or reinforced concrete units, e.g. kerbs, uses external vibration on completely closed moulds, and includes an installation which inverts the moulds contg. the vibrated units and releases the moulds, leaving the units on top mould plates which proceed to curing, unit evacuation and platform cleaning and re-oiling stations before returning for re-cycling. Each mould is open at the top and on two opposed sides and the prodn. sequence entails the introduction and locking on of two side forms to the horizontal mould, the pouring of concrete from overhead and the introduction and locking on of the top plates of the moulds. The moulds are vibrated and inverted so that the top plates are on the bottoms of the moulds, the side forms being removed, and the moulds being removed to leave the units on the top plates for the further prodn. steps.
