Abstract

A mechanism for continuously swinging an arm through an angle as large as 200 to 250 deg. has an actuator cylinder (4) attached at one end to a pivot point on an extension (6b) below the pivot pin (7) of the arm in the rest position, and a second cylinder (5) attached to a pivot on an arm (6c) above the pin (7). The other ends of the cylinders are attached to respective pivots (2, 3) spaced apart on a common horizontal block (1). A valve is used, to control the supply of pressure medium so that the second cylinder (5) begins the first part of the swing, acting through the upper pivot arm (6a), then the other cylinder (4) completes the swing.
