Abstract

The emergency door pressure bar (8) spans horizontally between two rocking levers (9) so as to locate in a position parallel to and offset from the internal door face. Crowd pressure causes the rocking lever to pivot, engage an angle iron attached to the bottom bolt, and causes this bolt (5) to slide out of its staple box (7). The top of the bottom bolt (5) is pinned (38) to the periphery of a rotatable disc (41). The bottom of the top bolt (4) is pinned (39) in a similar fashion to the disc, and the pinned joints (38,39) lie in opposed positions on a common disc dia. The relevant disc dia. aligns at 45 deg. to the vertical and displacement of the bottom bolt (5) thus effects a reciprocal displacement of the top bolt (4).
