Abstract

A transformer has the input of two primary halves joined to the positive of the DC supply and to the positive of an auxiliary rectifier which is in a circuit with two groups of thyristors and which is fed by a cycling device across an auxiliary transformer. An auxiliary capacitor is connected between the input to the two primary halves and the negative of the main supply in parallel with the auxiliary rectifier and the groups of thyristors. There is a selector affected by the DC supply allowing feed to the cycling device when the voltage is sufficiently high. The transformer secondary, via a relay, feeds alternately the thyristors.
