Abstract

Semisubmersible marine drilling platform for use both in exploration and oil production in deep water i.e. >200 m, comprising 2 lateral floats, 4 cylindrical columns, 4 longitudinal skid mounting beams, a lattice structure ensuring the rigidity of the platform (the horizontal bracing of which is raised with respect to the surface while towing to ensure the passage of ships) and an anchorage system with tensional cables. Provides a universal platform which can effectively replace self elevating, anchored semi-submersible, dynamically located semi-submersible and fixed (gravity) platforms, partic. for depths >200 m.
