Abstract

The screw has a cylindrical body (2) provided with a rapid helix thread of two or three times the normal pitch. Two flats (5) are formed axially along the body, diametrically opposite each other. The nut(E) has two opposing tapped portions (7, 8) which correspond to the flats on the screw and the remainder (9, 10) of the nut is relieved to clear the screw threads (3, 4). The nut is pushed down the screw body with the tapped portions over the flats, and given a part turn to tighten the assembled items against the screw head.
