Abstract
The system rests on a sea or lake bed and has units arranged in a number of configurations to suit the bed or the prevailing winds. Each unit consists of housings (1, 4) fitted with inlet valves (2)at a number of positions. The valves are automatic and close when the pressure in the tube equals the pressure outside. The unit has a hydraulic motor (7) so that the swell produced in the water by wave and wind action drives the motor to produce a suitable output, the valves controlling flow through the motor.
