Abstract

Process for mfg. anti-skid coatings, in a single operation, uses two granulates which, when together, form a discontinuous range of grain size, this discontinuity being accentuated by a sieving operation to obtain fractions of the desired grain size for each granulate. Lime is pref. employed either as a filler or to improve the adhesion of the coating. A single hydrocarbon binder is pref. used both for bonding the mortar and the granulates. The coatings are used esp. on road carrying a large number of motor vehicles, or on other surfaces likely to promote skidding when wet by rain.
