1480482 Treating road surfaces AMEY ROADSTONE CONSTRUCTION Ltd 5 July 1974 [18 July 1973] 34327/73 Heading E1G In a method of and apparatus for cleaning, texturing or retexturing a road to provide an anti-skid surface, the bitumen or resin binder material between the uppermost aggregate particles is cooled-e.g. by liquid nitrogen from a cowl 10-to a temperature considerably below that which it will encounter in normal use in order to render it brittle, whereafter it may be removed as by a flail 11, brush 12 and collector 13 mounted on the same vehicle as the cowl 10.
