Abstract

The tray is hot formed by polystyrene sheet by pressing or vacuum. Each compartment (2) is circular to fit the base of a pot or bottle and has its flat bottom (5) reinforced by an annular rib (4) around the circumference. The compartments are in parallel rows with the top surfaces of the tray (1) provided with a recess and lower rib (6) at the nearest points between the compartments. The edges (8a, 9a) of the tray are extended downwards to form a rim and finger grip for handling. When used for stacking trays or bottles in tiers the tops of the trays or bottles fit into the spaces (7) under each compartment formed by the annular ribs.
