Abstract

A support ring (1) is bolted to the flange (3) on the end of one tube. A lever (4) is mounted on a radial extension of this ring and is joined by a connecting lever to one (10) of a pair (10, 14) of locking cams. These are connected by a screwed pivot to the support ring. The lever is operated to open the locking cams, the tube inserted between them up to centralising stop (13) and the lever again operated to bring the stops (11, 12) on the locking cams against the tube flange. The joint can be unlocked and a screen inserted to block the flow through the pipes.
