Abstract

The machine consists of a frame in the form of a gantry (10) with four feet (11, 12, 13,14). The uprights are made of metal trellis work, and form a square section which increases with height up to the top where they are joined together to form a pyramidal upper part. In the latter is a platform (16) supporting the winching apparatus (17) for the load. Four balloons (301, 302, 303, 304) are attached to the feet and are inflated with helium. The motive and manoeuvring power is supplied by three engines at each end of boom (54) passing through the upper part of the pyramid, and by boom (55) each end of which bears an engine with a swivelling airscrew, for landing and take off. The air screws can be inclined for manoeuvring.
